SMART METERING STRATEGY OF OSHEE: ASSISTANCE TO DEVELOP A ROADMAP TO DEVELOP AND TRANSITION INTO A SMART GRID

The aim of the Project is to identify the most appropriate strategic approach for workable Smart Metering System implementation in Albania starting from the already installed system and meters. The main reason for preparing strategy for smart metering system implementation is reduction of electricity losses in the Albanian distribution system operator OSSH and improvement of bill collection rates for the suppliers using the distribution grid. In addition, implementation of Smart Metering System is also part of the process of harmonization with EU regulations, more precisely with the Energy Efficiency Directive.
