COLENCO Participates in the 31st Energy Community Electricity Forum in Athens
COLENCO participated in the 31st Energy Community Electricity Forum, held on 3–4 June 2026 in Athens, Greece. Organized by the Energy Community Secretariat, the Forum is recognized as one of the most influential regional events dedicated to the development of electricity markets, regulatory harmonization, and the advancement of the energy transition across Southeast Europe and the Energy Community region.
The event gathered representatives from the European Commission, ministries, national regulatory authorities, transmission system operators, market operators, utilities, financial institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to discuss the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the electricity sector.
Key topics addressed during the forum included the implementation of the Electricity Integration Package (EIP), further integration of regional electricity markets with the EU Internal Electricity Market, market coupling initiatives, renewable energy integration, system flexibility, energy security, and the implications of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Participants also exchanged views on the regulatory and technical challenges associated with accelerating decarbonization while ensuring reliable and affordable energy supply.
