CONDUCTING AN ANALYSIS OF PV DOLANI PROJECT CONNECTION CONCERNS
CONDUCTING AN ANALYSIS OF PV DOLANI PROJECT CONNECTION CONCERNS
The main purpose of this assignment was preparing an Analysis of connecting the PV Dolani Project to the existing 35 kV distribution network operated by EVN. Specifically, the project will address concerns regarding line-to-ground (LTG) fault currents in an ungrounded (isolated) neutral point system. The Analyses aim to identify potential risks and recommend solutions to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the network with the additional PV installations.
Main Scope of work:
- Problem Statement
- Address concerns regarding line-to-ground (LTG) fault currents in an ungrounded
(isolated) neutral point system
- Address concerns regarding line-to-ground (LTG) fault currents in an ungrounded
- Perform Electrical Calculation
- Provide a clear explanation of identified problems, and risks, and propose, if possible,
solutions to overcome the possible problems regarding the line to ground fault currents
- Provide a clear explanation of identified problems, and risks, and propose, if possible,
- Assess the existing Protection Mechanisms of the EVN 35 kV network
- Analyze the existing protection scheme against LTG faults in the EVN 35 kV network and its suitability for project requirements.
- Evaluate protection system effectiveness in mitigating risks associated with high capacitive currents and other challenges (such as steady state and transient over voltages).
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the existing LTG fault current protection system, considering the risk of prolonged ground faults and their consequences on network stability and equipment lifespan.
- Suggest possible measures or enhancements to ensure reliable and safe operation.
