Colenco joins Gvozd Wind Farm Project in Montenegro as Owner’s Engineer and Supervision Consultant
On May 20, 2025, the kick-off meeting for the Gvozd Wind Farm project was held at the premises of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), marking the start of an exciting renewable energy initiative in Montenegro. The project is being implemented by Green Gvozd, together with its shareholder EPCG, and supported by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The 54.6 MW wind farm, located near Gvozd village, approximately 60 km north of Podgorica, will play a key role in Montenegro’s renewable energy expansion.

The role of COLENCO and the Joint Venture is to provide technical, commercial, and overall project management and supervision expertise under FIDIC Yellow Book conditions of contract. Across multiple project components—including wind turbine generators, civil and electrical Balance of Plant works, grid connection works, procurement of power transformers, and comprehensive supervision services on site—the Consultant will assist in Montenegro’s energy transition by diversifying its electricity sources. Among else, responsibilities include reviewing and approving detailed and as-built designs, monitoring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, supervising construction activities, and ensuring adherence to EBRD financing requirements.
Being part of a project that will add 54.6 MW of renewable energy capacity, generating at least 141 GWh annually, COLENCO is committed to supporting the completion of a high-quality, sustainable, and safe wind farm that meets international standards.
