NORTH MACEDONIA: ESM FLOATING SOLAR PV PROJECT
NORTH MACEDONIA: ESM FLOATING SOLAR PV PROJECT
The objective of the project is to assess the feasibility and viability of deploying a floating photovoltaic (FPV) system at the proposed site by evaluating its technical, environmental, and social suitability.
Scope of services:
Task 1: Site Assessment
- Review existing studies, site conditions, and risks.
- Conduct site visits and evaluate access, infrastructure, and grid connection.
Task 2: Option Appraisal and Preliminary Project Design
- Assess FPV technologies, environmental, and geotechnical conditions.
- Develop preliminary design, including layout, anchoring, and grid connection.
Task 3: Synergy with Hydropower Plant
- Analyze evaporation reduction and hydro benefits.
- Identify operational impacts and potential water use conflicts.
Task 4: Solar Resource and Energy Yield Assessment
- Assess solar resource, weather conditions, and system losses.
- Provide probability-based energy yield forecasts (P50, P75, P90, P99).
Task 5: Grid Connection Review
- Review grid capacity, interconnection options, and infrastructure needs.
- Conduct interconnection study and evaluate transmission requirements.
Task 6: Summary of Findings and Recommendations
- Identify key project risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Provide actionable recommendations for the next project phases.
Task 7: Legal/Regulatory Review
- Assess permitting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Propose investment, operational, and revenue models.
Task 8: Economic and Financial Assessment
- Estimate CAPEX, OPEX, and financial viability (IRR, NPV, payback).
- Perform sensitivity analysis and develop an implementation timeline.
Coordination with Environmental and Social Consultants
- Integrate environmental, social, and health & safety considerations.
- Ensure compliance with ESIA requirements and project specifications
