COLENCO Ltd. Signs Contract with MEPSO for Technical Supervision of Key Energy Infrastructure Projects – 400 kV overhead transmission line and the development of a new 400/110 kV substation in Ohrid including 400 kV bay in SS Bitola 2

COLENCO Ltd., a leading consulting firm in the energy sector, is pleased to announce the signing of a significant contract with MEPSO (Macedonian Transmission System Operator) for the provision of consultancy services related to the construction of crucial energy infrastructure projects. The contract entails the technical supervision of the construction of a 400 kV overhead transmission line and the development of a new 400/110 kV substation including 400 kV bay in SS Bitola 2, integral components of the ambitious Corridor 8 project.

The 400 kV interconnection line, stretching from SS Bitola 2 to the Macedonian/Albanian border, represents a vital link in the transmission of electrical energy across the region. This milestone marks the final phase of Corridor 8, facilitating the efficient exchange of electricity between Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, and Italy.

In addition, the consultancy services encompass the establishment of the new 400/110 kV substation in the Ohrid-Struga region. This state-of-the-art substation, integrated into the transmission network, will play a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced in the southwestern part of the network. The substation will be connected as line in – line out of the new 400 kV line, establishing a robust energy pathway between Bitola and Elbasan.
