Colenco Ltd, Skopje Secures EBRD-Funded Project for ESM’s Decarbonisation

We’re proud to announce that Colenco Ltd, Skopje, as a Consortium Partner of DNV Energy Systems Germany GmbH, has been awarded a project funded by EBRD.

Our mission:  to develop a Decarbonisation Plan and Corporate Climate Governance Programme for Elektrani na Severna Makedonija (ESM).

🎯 Project Objectives:

1️⃣ Craft a comprehensive decarbonisation plan with actionable medium and long-term strategies

2️⃣ Empower ESM to screen investment projects against climate mitigation criteria

3️⃣ Conduct a high-level Corporate Climate Governance (CCG) gap assessment

4️⃣ Develop a robust CCG action programme

5️⃣ Benchmark advanced CCG milestones, focusing on physical climate risks

6️⃣ Prepare an initial TCFD disclosure for public release

🌍 Our Goal: To guide ESM in aligning its operations with the Paris Agreement, adapting its business model and enhancing corporate governance for effective climate action.

🔍 The Big Picture:

This project reflects the growing emphasis on climate-related financial disclosures, as highlighted by:

• Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
• Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS)
• EU’s Sustainable Finance Action Plan
• Various national regulatory and supervisory bodies

Collaboration is Key: We’ll work closely with ESM and coordinate with the consultant to update the NECEP plan to ensure project success.

Building on Success: This project follows our recent Scoping Study for grid investments, storage needs, and power plant repurposing in Southwest and Pelagonia regions.
