COLENCO Participates in „Energetika 2026“
COLENCO participated in the international conference „Energetika 2026“, organised by ZEMAK in Struga from 24 to 26 September 2026. The conference brought together energy professionals, researchers and industry representatives to share practical experience, present technical work and discuss challenges facing the energy sector.
The programme included presentations and panel discussions on how data centres affect electricity demand and how energy storage can help keep the power supply reliable. Participants also presented papers on renewable energy, transmission and distribution networks, energy storage, and other challenges shaping the energy sector. The presentations and discussions offered an opportunity to learn from projects and research in the region and beyond.
During the renewable energy session, COLENCO’s team presented the paper “Gvozd Wind Farm”. The presentation described the development and grid connection of the 54.6 MW wind farm near Niksic, Montenegro. The project comprises eight wind turbines connected through a 33 kV collector network to the new Gvozd 33/110 kV substation. Its connection to the transmission system involves new 110 kV lines towards Krnovo and Niksic, together with works at the connecting substations.
The paper also highlighted the coordination needed to bring these separate elements into operation as one electrical system. As part of the project’s Owner’s Engineer team, COLENCO contributed to the review of technical documentation, construction supervision, quality control, testing and preparation for energisation. This experience formed a central part of the presentation.
Participating in the conference gave COLENCO an opportunity to share lessons from the Gvozd project and engage with other professionals working on the development of reliable, renewable energy systems. We thank ZEMAK for organising the conference and all participants for the valuable exchange of ideas.
