Certificate Awarding Ceremony for Participants in the Energy Trading and Project Management Trainings
On 27 October 2025, a formal ceremony was held at the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of the Republic of North Macedonia to mark the successful completion of two training programmes under the project “Developing Energy Trading and Project Management Skills for ESM.”
The training programmes in project management and energy trading targeted around 90 professionals from JSC Macedonian Power Plant (ESM) and were organized by COLENCO, in cooperation and with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Aimed at empowering young professionals with market-relevant skills in the energy sector, these programmes represent an important milestone in the professional development of participants and a step forward in strengthening ESM’s institutional capacity.
During the ceremony, employees of ESM and the Ministry were awarded certificates for successfully completing the project management training, jointly delivered by COLENCO and the VITA Institute. The acquired knowledge and skills will enable participants to further contribute to the modernization and sustainable transformation of the national energy sector.
The ceremony was opened with the remarks of the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Ms. Sanja Bozinovska, who emphasized the importance of continuous professional development in advancing North Macedonia’s energy transition. She highlighted that investing in people is key to building a resilient and sustainable energy future, noting that initiatives like this project strengthen both institutional and individual capacities.
The representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Mr. Francesco Corbo, congratulated the participants on their achievements and reaffirmed EBRD’s commitment to supporting North Macedonia in developing a competitive, green, and modern energy sector. He underlined the value of collaboration between national institutions and international partners in fostering knowledge transfer and innovation.
The Chief Executive Officer of JSC Macedonian Power Plant (ESM), Mr. Lazo Uzunchev expressed appreciation for the support provided by COLENCO and the EBRD, emphasizing that the skills acquired through these programmes will enhance ESM’s operational efficiency and readiness for the challenges of energy market liberalization.
The Chief Executive Officer of COLENCO also addressed the attendees, commending the dedication and engagement of all participants. He reiterated COLENCO’s commitment to supporting the growth of human capital in the energy sector and fostering expertise that contributes to sustainable development and the modernization of the region’s energy landscape.
The successful completion of these programmes marks a new chapter in developing human capital and reinforces North Macedonia’s commitment to building a secure, sustainable, and reliable energy future.
